A quieter kind of progress (and what’s coming in March)
Most of what we’ve been building lately hasn’t been the sort of thing you can see.
It’s been the unglamorous (but essential) work behind the scenes: systems, structure, and the practical realities of getting beautiful pieces photographed, stored safely, and ready to hire—properly.
And now we’re at the turning point.
Why we’re starting with short-term solutions
We’re preparing to move into a larger permanent commercial space, but we’re not waiting for that to begin building the collection.
Instead, we’re setting up short-term solutions that let us start bringing stock in now—so pieces can be listed, booked, and delivered while we line up the longer-term home for Lovat & Co.
That means:
Secure interim storage for items that are already hire-ready
A practical flow for preparation (cleaning, checking, minor repairs, finishing touches)
A simple photography setup so every listing feels considered and consistent
A clear intake process so every piece is assessed, documented, and priced correctly
It’s not glamorous—but it’s what makes the whole experience calm and dependable for you.
What we’re collecting (and how we choose)
Over the next few weeks we’ll be out collecting the first wave of pieces. Our focus is on furniture that feels like a quiet alternative to buying disposable—and looks even better for having lived a life.
We’re looking for:
Strong frames and good proportions
Natural materials where possible
Character, not clutter
Pieces that can be made rental-ready without losing their soul
Some will go straight into the collection with minimal work. Others will come through the workshop first—refreshed, repaired, and finished with the kind of detail that makes a piece feel kept, not “done up”.
When you’ll see stock on the website
We expect the first pieces to start appearing on the website towards the end of March 2026.
To keep things honest: early on, the collection will be small and curated, not endless. That’s intentional. We’d rather launch with a tight edit of genuinely good pieces than rush volume.
If you’re watching for something specific
If you’ve subscribed and replied with requests (thank you), we are paying attention.
Where it makes sense, we’ll prioritise sourcing that aligns with our standard—because the goal isn’t just to fill a shop page, it’s to build a collection that stays consistent over time.
What happens next
From here, you’ll start seeing more of the visible side of Lovat & Co:
new listings arriving in batches
workshop “before & after” moments
behind-the-scenes sourcing days
and the first real rentals moving out into homes and spaces
If you’re on the list, you’ll be the first to know when new pieces go live.
Thank you for being here early.
We’re building this slowly, properly—and we’re nearly ready to show you.
